"Bobo" Appears at Sajik Baseball Stadium... Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Liberation with Baseball Fans
Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs
to Hold "Bobo" Character Exhibition at Sajik Baseball Stadium
Baseball fans visiting Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan will have a special encounter with "Bobo," the symbolic character of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.
The Busan Regional Office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, led by Director Lee Namil, is partnering with the Lotte Giants to hold the "Bobo Exhibition Event" at the Sajik Baseball Stadium plaza from August 5 to August 15, in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation.
Bobo is the official character of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, created with motifs of the sprout from "Narasarang Keunnamu," a bluebird, and the Taegeuk pattern. The name "Bobo" incorporates the meanings of "to protect" (保) and "to repay" (報), symbolizing the intention for future generations to remember the sacrifices of their predecessors and to repay their gratitude.
The regional office chose the open space of Sajik Baseball Stadium to broaden its connection with the younger generation. In particular, marking the meaningful 80th anniversary of Liberation, the aim is to create an opportunity for people to naturally reflect on the significance of honoring veterans in their daily lives.
An official from the Busan Regional Office stated, "We planned this exhibition in collaboration with the Lotte Giants to share the joy of Liberation with more citizens," and added, "We will continue to make various efforts and attempts to spread the culture of honoring veterans."
