Jeonju University Achieves 'Grade S' in University Innovation Support Project Performance Evaluation
Achieving the Highest Rating for Three Consecutive Years
Jeonju University (President Park Jinbae) has achieved the highest national rating, Grade S, in the Ministry of Education's 2025 University Innovation Support Project performance evaluation.
According to Jeonju University on August 6, this evaluation was conducted for a total of 138 universities receiving general financial support, comprehensively assessing two areas: the universities' educational innovation achievements and their internal performance management.
The core of this evaluation was to closely examine each university's commitment to innovating systems for fostering future convergence-type talent, tailored to their circumstances and regional characteristics.
Jeonju University was recognized for its outstanding performance in this evaluation, achieving the highest rating for three consecutive years from 2023 to this year.
In particular, Jeonju University received excellent marks in the field of educational innovation achievements. This area comprehensively evaluates the flexibility of academic structures for nurturing future convergence talent, curriculum and instructional innovation, as well as the results and plans of student support and management systems.
Jeonju University received high scores for its innovative restructuring of academic systems, including the establishment of a Division of Liberal Studies, expansion of integrated admissions for colleges, abolition of restrictions on changing majors and improvement of the multiple major system to strengthen students' choices, and the introduction of new convergence majors.
Additionally, the university's advancement of student support systems?such as the implementation of an advising professor and mentoring system for freshmen, and the establishment of a one-stop student administrative support system?was recognized as an exemplary case.
The university also received high evaluations for its restructuring of specialized, job-centered major systems based on local core industries, as well as for the consistency and execution of administrative and financial support systems that underpin educational innovation.
Park Jinbae, President of Jeonju University, stated, "This achievement is the result of all members working together on student-centered academic system innovation, customized student success support systems, and systematic performance management systems," and added, "We will continue to pursue demand-driven educational innovation and qualitative advancement, mobilizing all university capabilities to lead innovation in higher education."
Based on this achievement, Jeonju University has secured 10.89 billion KRW in project funding for the 2025 University Innovation Support Project, enabling the university to further accelerate educational innovation on a stable financial foundation for the next three years.

Meanwhile, this year Jeonju University secured the largest project funding in the Jeonbuk region?60 billion KRW?through the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE), and was selected as a preliminary candidate for the Glocal University designation, establishing itself as a key driver of global competitiveness based on region-centered innovation.
