Sunmoon University and DND Line Enter Chinese Virtual Studio Market
Official Invitation from Versatile Media...
Global Collaboration through AI-based Immersive Content
Sunmoon University announced on August 6 that it will enter the global content market after receiving an official invitation from DND Line, a special effects company, and Versatile Media, a leading Chinese virtual production company.
DND Line was the only Korean company invited to the opening ceremony of Versatile Media's AI Virtual Studio, which was held in Deqing, Zhejiang Province, China, on July 14.
This invitation is seen as a signal for international cooperation centered on AI-based immersive content technology.
The event was attended by a large number of producers, directors, and investors from major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Director Kang Jegyu, known for the films "Shiri" and "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War," also participated and gave a presentation on the future potential of AI video technology.
Sunmoon University and DND Line signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in June and are collaborating on establishing a joint research institute and nurturing talent to foster the K-media content industry in the Chungnam region. Starting this year, they plan to accelerate research on immersive content production technology.
Do Kwangseop, CEO of DND Line, said, "Collaboration with Versatile Media is a technological alliance to lead the AI content industry," adding, "We will strengthen our competitiveness in the global market together with Sunmoon University and other regional organizations."
