Gochang County to Hold 'Goindol Marathon' on November 16

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province announced on August 6 that the 23rd Gochang Goindol Marathon will be held at the Gochang Public Stadium on November 16.
The Goindol Marathon is organized by the Gochang County Sports Council and the Gochang County Athletics Federation, with support from North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province and Gochang County.
The event features three categories: the Health Course (5 km), the Short Course (10 km), and the Half Course (21.0975 km). The participation fee is 10,000 won for the Health Course, and 35,000 won for both the Short and Half Courses. Various local specialties, such as Hwangtobaegi rice and Bokbunja wine, will be provided as commemorative gifts.
The county is inviting marathoners from across the country under the slogan "Run Together in the World Heritage City, Gochang" to promote local pride and raise awareness of Gochang's UNESCO-listed treasures.

County Governor Sim Deokseop stated, "We expect that many visitors will be able to fully enjoy the deep autumn atmosphere along with UNESCO-recognized treasures through this marathon," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure a safe and enjoyable event."
