National Human Rights Commission to Operate "Investigator School" for University Human Rights Centers in Honam Region
For University Human Rights Center Staff in Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, and Jeju
Practical Training on Gender Equality and Human Rights Cases... Enhancing Investigative Competence
The National Human Rights Commission Gwangju Human Rights Office announced on August 6 that it will operate the "University Human Rights Center Investigator School" program for two days, from August 7 to August 8, targeting staff members of university human rights centers in the Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, and Jeju regions.
This training is a regular program by the Commission to support the enhancement of human rights expertise among university staff, following the revision of the Higher Education Act that made it mandatory for all universities to establish a human rights center. Since 2021, the Commission has operated annual training courses to strengthen the human rights capacity of university human rights centers.
This year's "Investigator School" is specifically designed to strengthen investigative capabilities regarding human rights and gender equality cases, and consists mainly of practical, case-based training. The curriculum focuses on practical skills such as reviewing investigation subjects, understanding evidence and investigation methods, identifying key issues, investigation methodologies, and report writing.
