The Korea Maritime Institute (KMI, President Cho Jeonghee) and the Busan International Financial Promotion Institute (KBFC, President Lee Myungho) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in policy development for the advancement of the marine finance industry at the Busan International Financial Center on August 5, 2025.

View original imageThrough this agreement, the two organizations will pursue strategic cooperation in the following areas: analysis of trends and information sharing in the marine finance industry; establishment of support systems for eco-friendly and digital transformation; advancement of marine finance and policy development; and information exchange and event hosting with global marine finance cities.
Lee Myungho, President of the Busan International Financial Promotion Institute, stated, "Cooperation with KMI, which possesses marine expertise, is essential to realize Busan as a marine-specialized financial hub. I hope this collaboration will contribute to the development of the marine finance sector."
