Busan Port Authority to Open Temporary Cargo Truck Parking Lot at Jasungdae Pier Twice the Size of Existing Facility
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) announced on August 5 that it will open a temporary cargo truck parking lot within Jasungdae Pier, the planned site for Phase 2 of the North Port redevelopment, starting September 1, 2025.
The new parking lot, which covers an area of 77,000 square meters, can accommodate up to 421 cargo trucks simultaneously. This is twice the capacity of the existing temporary parking lot at Uam (210 spaces). The operation period is from September 1, 2025, to December 2027, but this may change depending on the schedule of the Phase 2 North Port redevelopment project.
The parking fee has been frozen at 220,000 KRW per month (including VAT), which is the same as the current rate at Uam Pier. After the first year, the fee may be adjusted in consideration of factors such as inflation. Only vehicles with issued access passes can use Jasungdae Pier, as it is a secured area.
Applicants must obtain an access pass in advance and will be selected through a random draw held every quarter, allowing them to use the lot for three months at a time. Applications will be accepted from August 18 to 24, and the draw will take place on August 25.
The temporary cargo truck parking lot at Uam Pier will cease operations on August 31, 2025, and the site will be converted into a Marine Industry Cluster area.
