Join Forces to Support Flood Recovery in Muan
The Jeonnam Office of Education has partnered with the Jeonnam Parents' Association and the Jeonnam Volunteer Center to support recovery efforts in Muan, an area affected by heavy rainfall.
On August 4, the three organizations visited the flood-stricken area of Mangun-myeon in Muan County and carried out volunteer activities to restore flooded farmland and damaged homes. This flood damage occurred between August 3 and 4 due to torrential rain that hit the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, causing significant damage, particularly in low-lying areas.

They worked hard to remove mud and organize household goods. The Jeonnam Office of Education, the Jeonnam Parents' Association, and the Volunteer Center signed a three-party agreement in May to promote volunteer activities, and this event marks the first practical joint response since the agreement.
Kim Sanggil, head of the Volunteer Center, said, "Parents have voluntarily stepped up to help neighbors facing difficulties due to the sudden flood. I am deeply grateful," adding, "I hope these volunteer activities will continue in the future."
Park Eunsil, president of the Parents' Association, said, "It is meaningful that parents can contribute, even in a small way, to the recovery of flood damage," and added, "We will continue to carry out various volunteer activities so that we can actively participate in the future."
