Climate Companion Card to Be Usable on Hanam Subway Starting August 9
Applied to Line 5 from Misa Station to Hanam Geomdansan Station
Starting from August 9, the Seoul Climate Companion Card will be available for use on the subway in Hanam City.
On August 5, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that, beginning with the first train on August 9, the service area for the Climate Companion Card will be expanded to include the Hanam City subway section. The expanded section covers four stations: Misa Station, Hanam Pungsan Station, Hanam City Hall Station, and Hanam Geomdansan Station, all on Line 5.

View original imageAfter signing a business agreement for the Climate Companion Card on February 6, Seoul and Hanam City are launching the official service approximately six months later. Previously, the Climate Companion Card service had already been extended to seven other areas: Namyangju, Guri, Gimpo, Goyang, Seongnam, and Gwacheon.
With this expansion to Hanam, the Climate Companion Card can now be used at all 56 stations on Subway Line 5 in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is continuously working to expand the service to enhance transportation convenience in the metropolitan area. In the second half of this year, discounts for youth, parents with multiple children, and low-income groups are planned to be introduced.

Yeo Jangkwon, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Transportation Bureau, stated, "By expanding the Climate Companion Card service to Hanam City, which shares a living sphere with Seoul, we expect to significantly improve convenience for travel between Seoul and the metropolitan area." He added, "We will continue to actively cooperate with relevant agencies to provide diversified policy benefits, such as customized discounts."
