Geumcheon-gu Implements Policy Real-Name System... Discloses Project Details and Names of Those Involved
Applications for the "Citizen Application Policy Real-Name System" Accepted Until the 14th
Enhancing transparency by allowing residents to propose key policy projects
Geumcheon-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) is implementing the "2025 Policy Real-Name System" to enhance policy transparency and accountability and to guarantee residents' right to know. Until August 14, the district is operating a focused application period for the "Citizen Application Policy Real-Name System," during which residents can directly propose projects they are interested in or wish to know more about as key management targets.
The Policy Real-Name System is a system that increases accountability in policy execution by recording and disclosing the details of major policies promoted by the district, along with the real names of those involved and their opinions.
Geumcheon-gu has been operating the Policy Real-Name System since 2013. The system covers projects with a budget of 1 billion KRW or more, service projects costing 50 million KRW or more, the enactment, revision, or abolition of autonomous regulations, pledge projects, and major mid- to long-term district projects.
Residents can download the application form from the "Policy Real-Name System" section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it by mail or email. Proposed projects are selected as key management targets through deliberation and resolution by the Policy Real-Name System Deliberation Committee and are disclosed on the website.
As of last year, Geumcheon-gu disclosed a total of 611 policy projects. This year as well, the district plans to continue transparent administration by actively promoting projects closely related to residents' daily lives and projects linked to government national policy tasks.
