Mapo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Kangsoo), is operating the "Dangdang-i Water Playground" at the "Mapo Pet Camping Site" (482-179 Sangam-dong) until August 31, so that pet owners and their dogs can beat the summer heat together.
The "Mapo Pet Camping Site," which opened in June last year within Nanji Hangang Park, is an urban camping ground exclusively for pets, covering a total area of 2,863 square meters. It is designed as a space where pet owners and their dogs can relax and bond in the city.

It also features various amenities for dogs, such as drinking fountains and play facilities, as well as camping decks with views of the Han River. Since its opening, it has consistently been loved by pet families.
This "Dangdang-i Water Playground" is organized by the operator entrusted with managing the Mapo Pet Camping Site. Separate temporary pools have been set up for small and medium-sized dogs and for large dogs.
The facility operates daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a total of five sessions per day, each lasting one hour. It is closed every Monday, and participation is free of charge.
For safety, the Dangdang-i Water Playground operates on a reservation-only basis. Reservations can be made via Google Forms (m.site.naver.com/1NHbe) or through the dedicated contact number for the camping site.
During the event period, the water playground will host a variety of programs in addition to simple water play, including water gun games and a musical fountain show. Participants in the social networking service (SNS) review event will also receive prizes such as dog toys and pet mats.
The camping site also offers a playground for pets, a picnic zone, a rest area with Mongolian tents, and shower facilities, providing a wide range of amenities expected to be popular among families with pets.
Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "Pets are no longer just companions?they are precious family members with whom we share our lives and emotions. Mapo-gu is striving to become a city where people and pets can live happily together. I hope that through the Dangdang-i Water Playground, pet families can enjoy a cool summer in the heart of the city."
