Gyeonggi Province to Hold Policy Meeting Led by Governor Kim Dongyeon on August 5... Customs Support Measures Included
On August 5, Gyeonggi Province will hold a policy meeting to review the direction for the development of returned U.S. military bases and to discuss support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by the conclusion of the Korea-U.S. customs negotiations.
According to Gyeonggi Province, Governor Kim Dongyeon will preside over the 'Gyeonggi Province Current Issues Policy Meeting' from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the 4th floor of the provincial government building's Yulgok Hall. The meeting will be attended by 25 participants, including the First and Second Vice Governors for Administrative Affairs, the Vice Governor for Economic Affairs, directors of bureaus and departments, and heads of major public institutions.
The main agenda items for the meeting are the establishment and operational direction of the U.S. Military Base Return Task Force (TF), as well as support measures for SMEs affected by the conclusion of the Korea-U.S. customs negotiations.

Previously, on July 31, Gyeonggi Province announced several support measures in response to the customs agreement, including: ▲ an additional 50 billion KRW in 'special management funds'; ▲ consideration of expanding the scope of the trade crisis response package to include cosmetics, medical devices, and other industries; ▲ exclusion of the customs agreement response budget from the 'reduced supplementary budget'; and ▲ activation of the 'Trade Crisis Response Season 2' consultative body to support affected companies.
