Ministry of National Defense Relieves Chae Il, Head of Defense Media Agency, of Duties
Chae Il, the head of the Defense Media Agency, who has been embroiled in controversy over political neutrality and other issues, has been relieved of his duties.
The Ministry of National Defense announced on August 4 that it had conducted an audit in response to civil complaints regarding Chae's abuse of authority and verbal abuse, and as a result, relieved him of his duties in accordance with relevant regulations until a disciplinary decision is made.

Based on the audit results, the Ministry of National Defense requested disciplinary action against Chae for violating the duty of diligence and the duty to maintain dignity under the National Civil Service Act, submitting the case to the Central Disciplinary Committee. In addition, the Ministry referred matters that may constitute coercion and defamation under the Criminal Act to investigative authorities.
