Ongoing Restoration Efforts with Local Residents and the Uidoli Volunteer Group
On August 2, the city of Uijeongbu (Mayor Kim Donggeun) conducted a cleanup of floating debris and environmental maintenance activities in the Buyongcheon area, together with local residents and the "Uidoli Volunteer Group," a volunteer organization comprised of Uijeongbu city officials, following heavy rainfall.

View original imageThis activity marked the third round of flood recovery work, targeting sections that had not yet been restored. A total of 50 people participated, including 25 neighborhood leaders from Shingok 2-dong and Songsan 2-dong, as well as 25 Uijeongbu city employees and members of the Uidoli Volunteer Group. They worked together to improve the safety of the stream and the living environment for local citizens.
Previously, on July 23, Uijeongbu city carried out a large-scale first round of maintenance activities in the Jungnangcheon, Buyongcheon, and Baekseokcheon areas, with the participation of over 400 people, including Mayor Kim Donggeun, local community organizations, and members of public institution social contribution councils. On July 26, around 30 members of the Uidoli Volunteer Group voluntarily conducted a second round of recovery activities along the Jungnangcheon walking trail.

Meanwhile, on July 31, Uijeongbu city also dispatched about 60 volunteers and city employees to the Sangmyeon area of Gapyeong-gun to support recovery efforts, including removing soil and miscellaneous trees accumulated in farms and greenhouses.
