Man in His 20s Arrested for Illegal Filming in University Dormitory Shower Room
A man in his 20s was apprehended for illegally filming a woman in a university dormitory shower room.
The Seoul Seongbuk Police Station announced on the 31st that they had arrested and are investigating a man in his 20s, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming using cameras, etc.).
Mr. A is accused of entering the shower room of a dormitory at Korea University Anam Campus in Seongbuk-gu around 6:00 p.m. on the 30th of the previous month and illegally filming a woman in her 20s with his mobile phone. Three hours after committing the crime, Mr. A turned himself in to the dormitory manager and also admitted to the crime when the police arrived in response to the report. It is reported that the police discovered illegal footage on his mobile phone.
The police plan to conduct forensic analysis on Mr. A's mobile phone and investigate the specific circumstances of the incident.

According to Article 14 of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, filming another person's body without consent or distributing, possessing, or selling such footage can result in imprisonment for up to seven years or a fine of up to 50 million won.
