The heatwave is forecast to persist for the time being, with maximum perceived temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. Swell waves are expected to affect the Jeonnam coast, so caution is advised.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on July 31, the morning low on August 1 is forecast to range from 23 to 27 degrees Celsius, while the daytime high is expected to reach between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius. Waves in the seas off the west and south coasts are expected to reach up to 1.5 meters, and the concentration of ultrafine dust is forecast to remain at a 'good' level.
Daytime highs are expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius in Hwasun and Gurye; 32 degrees in Yeosu, Sinan, Heuksando, Jindo, and Mokpo; 33 degrees in Goheung, Boseong, Gangjin, Jangheung, Gwangyang, Muan, and Yeonggwang; 34 degrees in Hampyeong, Yeongam, and Wando; and 35 degrees in Naju, Jangseong, Damyang, Suncheon, Gokseong, and Gwangju.

An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "The heatwave and tropical nights are expected to continue for the time being, and the risk of heat-related illnesses is high, so outdoor activities and outings should be minimized." The official also urged, "Please remain alert to the dangers of the heatwave, follow safety guidelines, and make efforts to prevent any damage."
