Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival to Be Held on August 29-30
A Cool Summer Night with Cultural Performances
The Dongdaemun Cultural Foundation (Chairman Lee Pilhyoung) will host the "2025 Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival" for two days from August 29 to 30 next month at the Janghan 1 Waterfront Park area in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
The Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival, which was held for the first time last year, drew significant attention as approximately 30,000 citizens participated over two days. The festival, which featured several domestic craft beer breweries, a variety of food trucks, and music performances on the waterfront stage, received positive feedback from visitors. According to a visitor survey, 97% expressed satisfaction and 98% indicated their intention to revisit, making it a successful inaugural event.
This year's festival will offer a variety of programs to delight visitors, including a performance by the fusion gugak band Ondo in collaboration with the Sejong Center’s "Art for Everyone" project, jazz performances with movie themes, and outdoor film screenings.
Kim Hongnam, CEO of the Dongdaemun Cultural Foundation, stated, "We will retain the strengths of last year’s festival and improve on areas that needed enhancement to present an even better event," adding, "We aim to grow this into a beer festival that represents not only Dongdaemun-gu but also Seoul as a whole."
Meanwhile, to address inconveniences such as congestion while waiting to purchase food last year, the festival venue will be changed this year to an open area without waterfront facilities, and menu prices will be adjusted to appropriate levels.
