Bongjae Mountain Tunnel Connecting Soam Village and Daegun High School in Incheon to Open on August 1
The road section connecting Soam Village to Daegun High School in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, has been completed and will open to traffic on August 1.
The road was constructed with a total project cost of 34.2 billion KRW, stretching 400 meters in length with four lanes in both directions. It includes the Bongjae Tunnel, which runs 270 meters beneath Bongjae Mountain. Pedestrian sidewalks and bicycle lanes have been installed on both sides of the road to ensure safety and convenience.
This road project connects previously disconnected sections of the Dongchun 1·2 urban development area, which were separated by Bongjae Mountain, by excavating a tunnel. Construction began in March 2022 and was completed in about three years.
