Since the government declared the area a special disaster zone on July 22, the county has immediately deployed public and private restoration personnel to respond quickly. More than 300 soldiers from the 31st Division's direct unit and 200 soldiers from the 11th Airborne Brigade are carrying out intensive restoration work in severely affected areas such as Goseo-myeon, Bongsan-myeon, and Changpyeong-myeon.
In particular, the 3rd Battalion of the 6753rd Unit and the 11th Airborne Brigade are deploying more than 200 soldiers to the restoration sites each day. In addition, over 4,000 cumulative volunteers, including the Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Women's Association Council, have participated in the restoration efforts, working hard to help affected residents regain their daily lives.
On July 29, Governor Jung Chulwon stated, "The support of soldiers is especially valuable, as it is difficult to secure restoration personnel. We will spare no effort to support the soldiers working hard under the scorching heat so they can focus on the restoration."
