Korea Tourism Organization Selects Four Teams for Innovative Tourism Services Using Generative AI
The Korea Tourism Organization announced on July 28 that it held the '2025 Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tourism Promptathon Finals' at Lotte World Tower on July 26.
The Tourism Promptathon is a competition introduced for the first time this year to develop innovative tourism services based on generative AI and tourism data. After the registration of participants in May and about three weeks of service development, 12 teams advanced to the finals, and ultimately 4 teams were selected.

The four selected teams are: ▲ 'Tourist Attraction Audiobook' (Overall Excellence in Service), which allows users to listen to tourism information like a radio; ▲ 'K-Yummies' (Excellence in Service Planning), a service promoting Korean restaurants tailored for foreign tourists; ▲ 'Kotoro Tour' (Excellence in Service Implementation), an AI travel schedule management service; and ▲ 'Field Trip Planner' (Excellence in Service Vision), which introduces education-focused tourist destinations.

Kim Youngmi, Director of Digital Cooperation at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "This Tourism Promptathon is significant in that it went beyond the passive use of AI technology, which has become a game changer across industries, and actively developed tourism services." She added, "The Korea Tourism Organization will continue to expand the opening of various tourism data and actively support the AI transformation of the tourism industry by holding competitions such as testbeds for generative AI-based tourism services."
