Dongwha Pharm Builds New Headquarters at Its 1897 Founding Site
Move-in Begins on the 28th
Dongwha Pharm announced on July 28 that it has completed the construction of its new headquarters and has begun moving in at its founding site, 20 Seosomun-ro 9-gil, Sunhwa-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.
The building has been named "Building 1897" to commemorate the year Dongwha Pharm was founded. Officially recognized by the Korea Guinness Association in 1996 as the oldest pharmaceutical company in Korea, Dongwha Pharm continues its 128-year legacy by returning to its original founding location.
The new headquarters has a total floor area of 15,821.23 square meters (approximately 4,785 pyeong), consisting of five basement levels and sixteen floors above ground. Construction began on November 21, 2022, and was completed on July 15. The first to fourth floors feature the Dongwha Lounge, where the company's history can be viewed at a glance, a cafe, and the Bodang Hall?an auditorium with 260 seats for performances and seminars?as well as a lobby and other spaces. The fifth to sixteenth floors are designated as office spaces. The building is designed to foster active communication both internally and externally, with expanded meeting rooms, a work lounge, and open meeting zones, and employee welfare facilities have also been enhanced.
