Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Seoul Detention Center and Correctional Headquarters Over Workplace Corruption Allegations
The police have launched a compulsory investigation into the Seoul Detention Center and the Correctional Headquarters at the Gwacheon Government Complex.
The Major Crime Investigation Division of the National Police Agency announced to the press on July 28 that "a search and seizure operation is underway from around 9 a.m. at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, and at the Correctional Headquarters in the Gwacheon Government Complex, in connection with workplace corruption within the detention center."
This search and seizure is reportedly aimed at verifying circumstances related to misconduct by staff members affiliated with the Correctional Headquarters.
