Gangseo-gu to Distribute 100 "PCs of Love" to Information-Vulnerable Groups
Applications Accepted at District Office and Community Centers Until December
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Kyohun) is actively launching the "PC of Love Distribution Project" to improve digital accessibility for information-vulnerable groups and promote resource recycling.
This project involves refurbishing office PCs that have been in use for more than five years and distributing them to vulnerable groups. The district plans to provide a total of 100 PCs by the end of this year.
The eligible recipients include basic livelihood security recipients, people with disabilities, and residents of social welfare organizations who face difficulties in accessing digital resources. Applications can be submitted until December this year by visiting the Smart Information Division of Gangseo-gu Office (6th floor of the main building), any local community center, or by fax.
After verifying applicant eligibility, the district will visit each household to install the PCs. The distributed PCs are equipped with newly replaced major components such as the latest SSD (semiconductor-based storage device), keyboard, mouse, cables, and wireless LAN card. In addition, commercial software such as Hancom Office 2024, an essential office suite for document creation, is also installed.
The distributed PCs come with free repair service for two years, and a satisfaction survey will be conducted during installation. The district plans to actively reflect user feedback and suggestions for improvement in the future operation of the project.
