Gijang County in Busan Completes Risk Assessment for All Workplaces... 2,410 Hazardous and Risk Factors Identified
All-out Efforts to Prevent Major Industrial Accidents
Focused Management of 258 Priority Improvement Cases
Gijang County in Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok) has completed the "2025 Regular Risk Assessment" for all workplaces in order to prevent major industrial accidents.
The risk assessment is a procedure in which employers identify hazardous and risk factors that could cause death, injury, or illness to workers in advance, and establish and implement measures to reduce the level of risk.
This year's assessment was conducted over approximately three months, from April to July, targeting all workplaces including the county main office, the Agricultural Technology Center, the Fisheries Resources Research Center, and all towns and villages. The assessment involved both safety management specialists and frontline workers. In particular, the evaluation focused on processes with relatively higher risk, such as environmental sanitation, road maintenance, park and green space management, production and distribution of beneficial microorganisms, and seed cultivation facilities.
As a result of the assessment, a total of 2,410 hazardous and risk factors were identified. Among these, the county has established reduction measures for 258 cases that require priority improvement, and plans to sequentially implement improvements by securing budgets for each workplace.
Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "We have focused on preventing industrial accidents by blocking even minor risk factors in advance," and added, "I urge all staff members to remain alert to workplace risks and to actively participate in preventing major accidents."
