According to the Haenam Police Station in South Jeolla Province on July 24, the court dismissed the arrest warrant for a man in his 30s, identified as A, who was charged with violating the Animal Welfare Act.
The court reportedly determined that there was no risk of evidence destruction or flight.
A is accused of causing the starvation deaths of 63 out of 67 cattle he was raising at a livestock barn in Songji-myeon, Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, in March of this year.
It is reported that A did not provide specific statements regarding the reason for neglecting the cattle.
The police plan to refer A to the prosecution without detention.
