This workshop was organized as a follow-up measure to the business agreement signed with the Gyeongnam Headquarters of Korea Electric Power Corporation in April 2025. Its purpose was to inspect reinforced soil retaining walls in Jeju, where extreme heavy rainfall occurs frequently, to verify the effectiveness of the manual and to discuss areas for improvement.

During the on-site inspection, the main points of focus were ▲ leakage from retaining wall blocks ▲ settlement at the base of the wall ▲ and soil outflow. Based on these findings, improvements to the customized inspection checklist were proposed. Previously, in June 2025, the two organizations had conducted inspections of reinforced soil retaining walls at five locations, including Busan, Changnyeong, and Changwon.

A representative from Busan Urban Corporation stated, "We will enhance the manual and checklist by reflecting the results of the Jeju on-site inspection and strengthen our professional expertise," adding, "Through collaboration between organizations, we will take the lead in ensuring the safety of public facilities."
