KCC Silicon is a specialized silicone company that was spun off from KCC, which acquired Momentive, a global silicone manufacturer based in the United States. The company is focusing on developing silicone materials for cosmetics. The two companies have agreed to combine the UV protection technology of the LG Household & Health Care Beauty Research Institute with KCC Silicon's high-purity silicone technology to develop UV protection products that deliver both efficient blocking performance and a differentiated user experience.
Recently, LG Household & Health Care has been conducting various collaborative programs, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and open innovation research, to develop efficient cosmetic materials. The company expects to generate synergy through KCC Silicon's deep understanding of cosmetics and the application of its accumulated technologies.
Naegyu Kang, CTO of LG Household & Health Care, stated, "As the importance of UV protection is emphasized due to climate change, sun care products have become essential throughout all four seasons. We will launch sun care products with strong global competitiveness by using materials that provide both high UV protection efficiency and a satisfying user experience."
