View original imageSince March 2025, a special youth program has been underway in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province. Called the "Suncheon Youth Activist School," this program was held over a total of eight sessions, with 23 young participants, of whom 19 successfully completed the course.
This program went beyond simple lectures, aiming to foster personal growth and regional understanding among the youth. Participants explored a wide range of topics, from MBTI personality type analysis and how to use ChatGPT, to financial planning and health management. In particular, they reflected deeply on the meaning of community and took a practical approach by planning village activities in teams.
A notable feature of the program was the participation of graduates from previous cohorts as mentors, who shared their firsthand experiences. Through this, participants learned the value of building connections with one another, going beyond mere education.
Youth participants said in unison, "It was a meaningful time, not only to gain knowledge but also to share our own stories and connect with the community."
A Suncheon City official stated, "We plan to link what was learned in this program to youth community support projects, so that these lessons do not end here but continue as real activities in the local area," adding, "We will continue to support the initiatives of young people."
