The lighting was replaced with products manufactured by local LED lighting companies.
This project is part of the "Energy Efficiency Improvement Project" and was first implemented last year for 50 business establishments. It has been recognized for significantly reducing energy costs and carbon emissions, as well as for its high satisfaction among small business owners. As a result, it was selected as an outstanding case in the Ministry of Industry's 2024 Support Project for Areas Surrounding Power Plants.
High-efficiency LED lighting offers longer lifespan and greater energy efficiency compared to outdated lighting, allowing for reduced power consumption and lower electricity bills.
Kim Changuk, president of the Uljugun Small Business Association, stated, "We expect that this project will provide practical help for the local commercial district by improving the environment and energy efficiency of small business establishments, thereby reducing their electricity bill burden."
So Yu-seop, head of Saewool Nuclear Headquarters, said, "I hope this initiative will be of great help to local small business owners during these economically challenging times." He added, "Saewool Headquarters will continue to support government policies aimed at reducing household burdens and revitalizing small businesses, and will make ongoing efforts in this regard."
