Article Written by Trees... Hyundai Motor Unveils Cannes Triple Winner "Tree Correspondent"
Hyundai Motor Company announced on July 23 that it will launch the "Tree Correspondent" campaign, a forest conservation initiative that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) technology, to mark the 10th anniversary of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program "IONIQ Forest."
This campaign is an innovative CSR project in which trees deliver messages about climate crisis response and the value of forests from a first-person perspective. The campaign proved its creativity by winning two Gold Lions and one Silver Lion at "Cannes Lions 2025."
Hyundai Motor Company analyzes IONIQ Forest data from 13 countries, including Korea, Brazil, and the Czech Republic, using an AI-based large language model (LLM) to create articles in the voice of trees. Weather data is also utilized to allow real-time monitoring of forest health. The campaign video is available on Hyundai Motor Company's YouTube channel.
A Hyundai Motor Company representative stated, "We will continue to expand public empathy for environmental issues and pursue sustainable CSR activities through technology and storytelling."
