"Escape the Heat at Your Local Store"... CU Operates 'Heatwave Shelters'
Public Interest Campaign for All Customers, Including Vulnerable Groups
Promotions Such as Bundle Purchases and Card Company Discounts
CU, the convenience store chain operated by BGF Retail, announced on July 23 that it will strengthen its role as a heatwave shelter for customers suffering from the heat. The CU Heatwave Shelter is a public interest campaign designed to allow vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly, as well as all customers, to temporarily escape the heat at nearby stores.
The company stated that it plans to leverage its nationwide network of more than 18,000 offline stores?the largest in the country?to reinforce its role as a safety platform in everyday life. By taking advantage of the convenience store's 24-hour operation and constant air conditioning, BGF Retail aims to highlight the public benefit of contributing to community safety.
CU is also running large-scale promotions to help customers enjoy a cool and budget-friendly summer shopping experience. Until July 31, customers can purchase any of five popular large-sized beers?including Cass, Stella, and Budweiser?for 1,900 KRW each when buying five or more. Cass and Terra canned beer six-packs are available at up to 50% off. Additionally, Chum-Churum Saero (400ml) is sold at 1,000 KRW per bottle when purchasing a six-pack bundle.
