Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters Joins Relay Campaign to Raise Awareness of Population Issues
Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Director Lee Sangwook) participated on July 22 in the "Relay Campaign to Raise Awareness of Population Issues," jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare.

View original imageThe population awareness campaign, under the slogan "Children are happy, young people nurture hope, and the elderly live fulfilling lives in Korea," is a relay campaign in which public institutions and organizations across the country participate to build social consensus on low birth rates and population aging.
Lee Sangwook, Director of Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters, expressed his thoughts on participating in the campaign, stating, "Low birth rates and population aging are the result of various structural problems in our society, and fundamental solutions will require mid- to long-term efforts."
He also said, "Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters is safely operating nuclear power generation, a stable low-carbon energy source, to overcome the climate crisis caused by global warming."
He added, "A stable living environment based on clean energy and ecological preservation for future generations can increase social trust in childbirth and childrearing, and I believe it can have a significant impact on raising awareness of population issues."
This campaign participation was carried out following the nomination of Lee Hannyung, Director of the Busan Branch of the Bank of Korea, and Lee Sangwook, Director of Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters, nominated Park Kijeong, Director of the Busan Ulsan Regional Headquarters of Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation, as the next participant.
