In response, beginning with a volunteer group on July 21, over 200 members from various grassroots organizations?including the Bareuge Salgi Movement Council, the Saemaeul Council, and the Neighborhood Leaders Council?will consecutively join the recovery efforts.
The city will directly provide essential supplies such as boots and gloves required for restoration work, ensuring that these materials can be quickly deployed to the affected sites to support the recovery process.
Each grassroots organization participating in the restoration will be dispatched first to severely affected areas?including Sicheon-myeon, Sinan-myeon, and Danseong-myeon?where urgent recovery is needed. They plan to promptly carry out tasks such as removing debris, collecting flood-related waste, and clearing residual materials, with the goal of helping affected residents return to safe daily life as quickly as possible.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the residents of Sancheong County who are suffering due to this unexpected disaster," and added, "Changwon City will actively support and contribute to the swift restoration of the affected areas."
