On July 22, Kwangsoo Lee, Head of the Agricultural and Rural Support Division at NongHyup Central Association, visited a cucumber farm in Changnyeong, Gyeongnam, which suffered flooding due to extreme rainfall. He assessed the situation on site and offered words of comfort to the affected farmers.

View original imageFrom July 17 to 19, Changnyeong County experienced an average of 440 mm of heavy rainfall, with up to 585 mm recorded in Namji-eup, resulting in significant damage across the region. As a result, approximately 482 hectares of farmland were flooded, causing severe damage to local crops such as rice paddies, corn, and persimmons.
In response, Kwangsoo Lee, Head of the Agricultural and Rural Support Division at NongHyup Central Association, visited the cucumber farm in Changnyeong County that suffered damage to its agricultural warehouse and greenhouse facilities. He offered his deepest condolences to the farmers and promised prompt support for recovery efforts.
Lee stated, "I believe the emotional distress of farmers must be considerable, as the damage caused by the sudden extreme rainfall was much greater than expected. We will do our utmost to support recovery efforts so that farmers can return to their agricultural activities as soon as possible."
