Incheon Bupyeong District Launches Milk Delivery Welfare Check Service to Prevent Solitary Deaths
On July 21, Incheon Bupyeong District announced that it will launch a milk delivery welfare check service for 150 households consisting of elderly people living alone and those at risk of solitary death.
If the delivered milk remains untouched or the recipient cannot be reached, a designated public official will check to determine whether there is an emergency situation. The district expects that this initiative will not only help improve the health of elderly people living alone but also prevent solitary deaths by regularly checking on their well-being.
Previously, the district signed a business agreement with the non-profit organization "Milk Delivery Checking on the Elderly" to implement this project. The milk supply will be fully sponsored by the partner organization, with an annual contribution of 54 million won.
"Milk Delivery Checking on the Elderly" is a non-profit public interest corporation that began its milk welfare check campaign in 2003. Currently, it provides milk sponsorship and welfare check services to more than 6,000 elderly people throughout all districts of Seoul and nationwide.
