Damyang County Conducts Electrical Safety Inspections for 220 Vulnerable Households
Maintenance of Aging Electrical Wiring
and Installation of Automatic Fire-Extinguishing Outlets
Damyang County in South Jeolla Province, led by County Governor Jung Chulwon, has launched electrical safety inspections for fire prevention in aging homes of low-income residents, in cooperation with the Community Welfare Task Force and the 119 Life Safety Patrol Unit.
According to the county on July 21, Damyang plans to provide electrical safety inspections and preventive measures for 220 aging homes of low-income households that are vulnerable to fire, in partnership with the Community Welfare Task Force and the Damyang Fire Station's 119 Life Safety Patrol Unit, through the end of August.
To ensure the efficient implementation of the project, the county held a business coordination meeting with Damyang Fire Station on July 11, and on July 14, shared project details with local task force leaders and welfare officials from each town and township.
The fire prevention inspections focus on households at high risk of fire, particularly those using aging electrical appliances during the high electricity consumption summer season. The initiative includes the installation of automatic fire-extinguishing outlets, maintenance of old wiring, and inspection of fire detectors and extinguishers.
A county official stated, "We will continue to strengthen our cooperation system to protect the daily lives and safety of our residents."
