Hwasun County Council Holds 1st Anniversary Ceremony for Second Half of 9th Term
On July 15, the Hwasun County Council in South Jeolla Province, chaired by Oh Hyeongyeol, held a meaningful commemorative event to mark the first anniversary of the launch of the second half of the 9th Hwasun County Council, with more than 30 council members and staff in attendance.

View original imageAccording to the Hwasun County Council, the event was organized to reflect on the council's achievements to date and to renew their commitment for the remaining year together with the residents of the county.
The event began with a pre-ceremony visit to the Memorial Tower to honor the spirits of the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who dedicated their lives to the country. During the main ceremony, attendees watched a council promotional video and a special 1st anniversary interview video, sharing the major activities and accomplishments of the past year.
In his commemorative speech, Chairman Oh Hyeongyeol stated, "Over the past year, we have been dedicated to enacting effective ordinances and developing policies that make a tangible difference in the lives of our residents, as well as providing oversight and monitoring of the executive branch," adding, "During the remainder of my term, I will strive to meet the expectations of our residents through even more innovative and practical legislative activities."
Over the past year, the Hwasun County Council has held six sessions spanning a total of 93 days, processing 136 agenda items including ordinances and budget proposals, thereby laying a solid foundation for improving the convenience of residents' daily lives and fostering regional development.
In particular, the council received high praise for achieving a Grade 2 rating in the National Integrity Assessment of Local Councils conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission last year, leading the way in realizing clean and transparent governance based on trust and communication with residents.
Meanwhile, after the event, the council members visited the Nadeuri Senior Welfare Center to serve meals as volunteers, putting into practice their commitment to communication and sharing with the community.
