"Let's Go to Our Busan"... Travel Song Music Video Created with Citizens Released
Second Theme Song Follows January's "Busan is Good"
Busan City has released the music video for its new city brand song, "Let's Go to Our Busan," to mark the summer vacation season.
On July 14, Busan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced that it had released the music video for its second city theme song, "Let's Go to Our Busan," on the city's official YouTube channel and has begun full-scale promotion of summer tourism.
"Let's Go to Our Busan" is a travel-themed song that captures the scenery of Busan's sea, mountains, city, and art, set to an upbeat melody and emotional lyrics. Written and composed by young Busan artists, the song reflects both the identity and sentiment of Busan as a city of culture and tourism, delivering a story that anyone can relate to.
The music video features footage based on the real-life stories of travelers. All the actors who portrayed these stories are citizens and city officials, not professional actors, which makes the content even more appealing as it is created by ordinary people in their everyday lives.
Kim Sharon, the "storyteller" who opens and closes the video, said, "Everyday life in Busan was itself a journey," and added, "I'm happy to be able to share this feeling." In the scene depicting a youthful romance in Huinyeoul Village, Yeongdo, singer Nam Hayoung appears in person, while Kim Sungkuk, an official from the city's Senior Welfare Division, appears at the summit of Geumjeongsan Mountain.
Kim said, "During a difficult time after failing to find a job, a trip to Busan became a turning point in my life," and added, "I feel a new sense of fulfillment by being able to share my emotions with citizens."
Through this theme song, the city aimed to showcase Busan's year-round tourism appeal. The music video features a variety of themes, including the sea and marine sports, cherry blossoms in spring, and even pet-friendly travel.
"Let's Go to Our Busan" is the second city brand song produced, following the pre-released "Busan is Good" in January. The city has released both songs on domestic and international music platforms, and this video was produced specifically for the summer season.
Busan City recorded 2.93 million tourists in 2023, the highest number in the past ten years. The city expects that this theme song and music video will serve as an opportunity to promote Busan's appeal both domestically and internationally.
