Siheung Establishes "Health Care Division" at Public Health Center in Proactive Response to Integrated Care Support Act
Platform to Connect Fragmented Public Health and Medical Services
The city of Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, announced on July 14 that it has newly established and begun operating a "Health Care Division" within its public health center, as a proactive measure in response to the "Integrated Care Support Act" scheduled to take effect in March next year.
The new division will serve as a platform to identify diverse health care needs and organically connect previously fragmented public health and medical services.
The Health Care Division is composed of three teams: the Health Care Team, the Dementia Management Team, and the Mental Health Team.
The Health Care Team provides customized health management services to citizens with complex health issues by integrating services such as home medical care, home nursing, AI and IoT-based senior health management programs, and rehabilitation projects.
The Dementia Management Team is responsible for systematically promoting initiatives to create a dementia-friendly environment, including screening for high-risk groups, secondary examinations, cognitive enhancement education, and case management for dementia patients and their families.
The Mental Health Team works to strengthen the city's response to mental health crises and build a local mental health safety net by integrating and enhancing mental health promotion programs and suicide, drug, and addiction prevention initiatives.
