Woman in Her 60s Found Dead at Gwangju Reservoir
A woman in her 60s was found dead at a reservoir in Gwangju, and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
According to Gwangju Nambu Police Station and other sources on July 13, a resident reported at around 6:04 a.m. the previous day that "a person is floating in the water" at a reservoir in Hwajeong-dong, Nam-gu. Emergency responders who arrived at the scene rescued Ms. A (68), but she was already in cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police believe that Ms. A was involved in an accident while riding an electric scooter along a farm road. Analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in the area confirmed that Ms. A had been traveling on an electric scooter.
No signs of trauma or criminal activity have been identified so far, and police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident by questioning Ms. A's acquaintances and others.
