Siheung Launches Pilot Project for Integrated Medical, Nursing, and Caregiving Support
Establishment of the Dedicated "Integrated Care SOS Center Team"
On July 9, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will establish a new organization to provide integrated support for medical care, nursing, and caregiving, and will officially launch a pilot project.
This project aims to provide a comprehensive range of caregiving services to individuals who face difficulties in daily life, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, by integrating and coordinating various support services. Eligible recipients will be able to access care services across all areas, including healthcare, health management, long-term care, daily living support, and family support, directly from their place of residence.
To implement the project, the city has established a dedicated team called the Integrated Care SOS Center Team within the Welfare Policy Division, and has also created a new Health Care Division at local health centers.
The city plans to operate the Siheung Care SOS Centers, which are currently active in 20 districts, as an integrated support hub. This hub will oversee the entire process, including identifying eligible recipients, developing integrated service plans, and managing and monitoring individual cases, by linking not only existing emergency care services but also healthcare services.
