Gangdong-gu to Issue 4 Billion Won in "Gangdong Sarang Gift Certificates" and 200 Million Won in "Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates"
On July 8, Gangdong-gu in Seoul announced that it will issue the "Gangdong Sarang Gift Certificate" and the "Gangdong Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate" to revitalize the local economy and increase sales for small business owners.
The "Gangdong Sarang Gift Certificate" will go on sale at an 11 a.m. on July 10 (Thursday), with a total issuance of 4 billion won and a 5% discount. The monthly purchase limit is 500,000 won, and the validity period is five years. It can be purchased through the mobile-only app Seoul Pay Plus (SeoulPay+), and used by scanning the QR code at affiliated Seoul Pay merchants within the district. The merchant transaction fee is 0%.
The "Gangdong Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate" will be available for purchase at 10 a.m. on July 14 (Monday), with a total issuance of 200 million won and a 15% discount. The monthly purchase limit is 100,000 won, and the validity period is one year. The purchase method is the same as for the Gangdong Sarang Gift Certificate.
The "Gangdong Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate" can be used when ordering through the public delivery app "Ttaenggyeoyo," which offers a low 2% intermediary fee and three "no-fee" benefits (no entry fee, no monthly usage fee, and no advertising costs). In the first half of this year, the district issued 1 billion won worth of "Gangdong Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates." In the second half, Gangdong-gu plans to issue an additional 1 billion won in stages, bringing the total issuance for the year to 2 billion won.
