Special Prosecutor: "Yoon Questioned First on Obstruction of Arrest Warrant... Chief Prosecutor, Not Superintendent, Conducts Interrogation"
Superintendent Park Changhwan, Who Raised Concerns, Now Assists the Investigation
The special prosecutor team led by Cho Eunseok, which is investigating cases of rebellion and treason related to the 12·3 Martial Law, announced on July 5 that it began the second in-person questioning of former President Yoon Sukyeol by first addressing allegations of obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant.
During a briefing that day, special prosecutor Park Jiyoung stated, "As far as I know, the investigation regarding the obstruction of arrest is currently underway," adding, "From what I have confirmed, the questioning is proceeding smoothly at this time." Park Jiyoung explained that under the supervision of special prosecutors Park Eoksoo and Jang Woosung, chief prosecutors Kim Jeonggu and Cho Jaechul are questioning former President Yoon, with Superintendent Park Changhwan and prosecutor Koo Sunki providing support for the investigation.

During the first round of questioning on June 28, former President Yoon's team refused to participate, raising concerns that Superintendent Park Changhwan?who himself had been accused of illegal arrest?was acting as the investigator for the obstruction of arrest allegations. This led to concerns that a similar conflict could arise if Superintendent Park were again assigned as an investigator for the second round of questioning. However, it appears that the special prosecutor team changed the investigator to avoid a repeat of the previous situation. Park Jiyoung explained, "After internal discussions, we decided to proceed in this manner, taking into account the large volume of investigation and the need for swift progress to ensure the efficiency of the investigation."
