Selected as a Recipient of the 2025 France Excellence Scholarship
Recognized for Outstanding Academic Achievements and Research Plans
The University of Seoul announced on July 3 that Donghyun Kim, a student in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Graduate School (integrated master's and doctoral program, supervised by Professor Choi Jinhee), has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 French government scholarship 'France Excellence,' awarded by the Embassy of France in Korea.
The 'France Excellence' scholarship is an official program supported by the French government for outstanding international students who plan to pursue master's or doctoral degrees at French higher education institutions. The program aims to identify talented individuals with academic potential and international capabilities and to actively support their studies at institutions of higher education in France.
Recipients are selected through a rigorous two-stage screening process. Final scholarship recipients receive a range of benefits, including a monthly living allowance, round-trip airfare between Korea and France, and exemption from administrative fees. The scholarship supports recipients for up to 36 months during their regular degree programs in France.
This year, a total of 16 students nationwide who plan to enter master's or doctoral programs were ultimately selected. Donghyun Kim from the University of Seoul was included in the list of scholarship recipients in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements and detailed research plans.
Donghyun Kim is actively conducting research on 'development of toxicity prediction models using artificial intelligence' and, since last year, has been pursuing an international joint doctoral degree at Universite Paris Cite with Professor Karine Audouze, focusing on 'toxicology and epidemiology translational research based on toxicity pathways.'
