Korea University Humanities and Social Integration Center to Host World Humanities and Social Sciences Conference
Sharing Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Research
The Humanities and Social Integration and Dissemination Center (HUSOP) at the Institute of Korean Studies, Korea University, announced on July 2 that it will co-host the "2025 World Humanities and Social Sciences Conference" together with the Korean Association of Institutes for Humanities and Social Sciences (KASHI) and the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences (NRC).
The academic conference will be held on July 3 and 4 at Korea National University of Education in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, under the theme "Convergence of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science and Technology in the AI Era." More than 150 domestic research institutes and over 1,000 scholars from Korea and abroad are expected to participate.
The conference will feature a total of 14 sessions and more than 150 academic presentations. Topics to be discussed include responses to the crises of the AI era, regional extinction, society and psychology, migration, education, society, and the climate crisis, all aimed at addressing the complex contemporary challenges.
In particular, the session titled "Korea's Crisis Through the Eyes of the World" will focus on the five major crises facing Korean society?basic academic disciplines, international relations, disasters, regions, and communities. Domestic and international experts will diagnose the issues and seek solutions.
A representative from Korea University explained, "This academic conference is part of an effort to build a new academic ecosystem based on collaboration between the humanities, social sciences, science, and the arts."
