Gwangju Bukgu Named Top Local Government in Korean Medicine Health Care Project
Gwangju Bukgu has been selected as the top local government in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's evaluation of the 'Korean Medicine Health Care Project,' receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
According to Bukgu on June 30, the evaluation was conducted by a panel of experts in the relevant field, who comprehensively assessed local governments nationwide based on criteria such as ▲the appropriateness of the project plan, ▲the level of service provision, ▲the performance of service linkage, and ▲the potential for nationwide expansion.
Last year, under the theme 'Bukgu That Cares for Your Health,' Bukgu provided Korean medicine treatments such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and herbal prescriptions, as well as cognitive tests and mental health counseling, to a total of 13,890 people, including seniors, people with disabilities, and children.
In addition, the operation of mobile health classes for single-person households and customized hub mobile clinics covering both permanent rental housing and urban-rural integrated areas received positive reviews. Bukgu was also highly evaluated for its effective collaboration system with the Bukgu Association of Korean Medicine, LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, and the National Health Insurance Service, which enabled the identification and connection of target groups.
