7-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Swept Away by Rapid Current in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province
On the afternoon of June 28, a 7-year-old boy died after being swept away by a rapid current in Naericheon, Yeongwol, Gangwon Province.
According to fire authorities, at approximately 5:26 p.m. that day, a report was received that a boy identified as A (7) had been swept away by a rapid current in Naericheon, Gimsatgat-myeon, Yeongwol County. Rescue teams found A about 20 meters downstream from where he went missing and transported him to a nearby hospital, but he was ultimately pronounced dead.
