On June 27, Gyeonggi Province will hold a completion ceremony for the 'Regional Agricultural Products Comprehensive Processing Center' established within the Agricultural Technology Center in Gapyeong County, and will officially begin its operation. This facility is one of the key achievements of the 'Second Regional Balanced Development Project' promoted by Gyeonggi Province, serving as an advanced base to enhance the added value of agricultural products and revitalize the rural economy.

A total of 4 billion won (3.4 billion won from the province and 600 million won from the county) was invested in the Gapyeong Agricultural Products Processing Center. The project began in 2020 and was completed on a 2,852-square-meter site, with a total floor area of 851.78 square meters. The first floor is equipped for sauce production and freeze-drying, while the second floor houses spaces for producing and packaging retort foods. Products such as instant rice, potato porridge, corn soup, and strawberry puree are expected to be manufactured here.

The Agricultural Products Processing Center is not merely a 'processing plant' but a multi-functional support space that aims to strengthen the capabilities of local farmers and foster product development, branding, and market entry. By providing processing education, prototype practice, and start-up incubation, the center plans to add value to local agricultural products and substantially increase farm income.

Gyeonggi Province believes that this facility will serve as a good example of balanced development led by the region, fostering a local industry centered on agricultural products and creating an opportunity to transform agriculture into a sustainable growth engine.

Sung Injae, Director of Balanced Development for Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We are not simply building a processing center, but creating the potential for the region to become self-reliant and grow on its own," adding, "We will continue to invest in realizing balanced development so that the unique potential of each region can be realized and all areas can grow together."

Approximately 100 people, including the county governor, county council members, and representatives from agricultural organizations, attended the completion ceremony. The event included a national ceremony, progress report, commemorative speech, and congratulatory remarks to celebrate this significant beginning. During the facility tour, which started with the unveiling ceremony, live demonstrations of the actual processing equipment drew considerable attention.
