View original imageThe Daejeon-Chungnam Administrative Integration Public-Private Council held a resident briefing session on the 27th in the main conference room of the Cheongyang County Social Economy Innovation Town.
This briefing session, organized to share the legitimacy of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration with local residents and to promote broader consensus, was attended by Kim Dongon, Mayor of Cheongyang County, Lee Changki, Co-Chair of the Public-Private Council (Daejeon), Yang Kyungmo, Chair of the Communication Subcommittee (Provincial Assembly member), as well as approximately 150 local residents and public officials.
At the event, Ko Seunghee, Head of the Social Integration Research Division at the Chungnam Institute, explained the current status of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration initiative.
A talk concert was also held, focusing on topics such as the legitimacy and expected benefits of administrative integration, as well as strategies for public discussion to gain resident consent.
The talk concert featured participation from Lee Changki and Yang Kyungmo, Jinwoo Lee, President of the Cheongyang County Veterans Association Council, and Shin Inseok, President of the Cheongyang County Saemaeul Movement Chapter, who presented a variety of opinions related to administrative integration.
Yang Kyungmo stated, "The Daejeon-Chungnam Special City, which will be created through administrative integration, will emerge as the economic and scientific hub of Korea by combining Daejeon's advanced science and technology capabilities with Chungnam's industrial infrastructure. In the case of Cheongyang, we expect to secure momentum for key projects such as the Food Plan and to improve living conditions through enhanced access to medical services."
The city and county resident briefings began in Hongseong County on the 23rd and are scheduled to be held sequentially in all 15 cities and counties in the province until July 8.
