Yeoju City Mobilizes for Landslide Preparedness... Inspects Shelters and Promotes National Action Guidelines
Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on June 27 that it had conducted a comprehensive inspection of landslide shelters within its jurisdiction to strengthen landslide prevention and response systems in preparation for natural disasters such as recent heavy rains and typhoons.
This inspection was carried out to comprehensively examine the locations, accessibility, and management conditions of the shelters in order to protect citizens' lives in the event of an actual disaster. The purpose was to strengthen preparedness so that residents can evacuate quickly in emergency situations.
In addition, Yeoju City distributed promotional materials for the 'Landslide National Action Guidelines' to raise public awareness and enhance citizens' ability to respond autonomously. These materials, produced by Gyeonggi Province, have been placed at City Hall, eup-myeon-dong community centers, and village halls (shelters) to ensure that all citizens can easily access them.
The 'Landslide National Action Guidelines' include information on how to identify warning signs of landslides in advance, as well as guidelines for safe evacuation in the event of a landslide. These materials are expected to be highly useful in real crisis situations.
